Sculpted Moths

$20.00
sold out

These ceramic moths are a joy to make, and just a fantastic little addition to any surface they are put on. They stand on little handshaped legs, and are handpainted and unique, and are about 2 inches across.

Made from white midfire stoneware, these pieces were shaped, hand carved, and decorated with colored slip. They were fired, glazed with a transparent, food safe glaze, and then fired for a second time.

The ceramics in this set are inspired by mushrooms, and the forests they inhabit. While the main focus of the set was on sculpture, this collection also explored a more minimal application of colored slips, while experimenting with brushstrokes and texture.
