Sunsets & Silhouettes
I’ve lived in Ohio for most of my life, and while perhaps it is a symptom of getting older, I spend much more time looking at the sky than I used to. I spend much more time appreciating the sky than I used to. This collection may be a shrine to the sky - singular and fleeting moments offered up in admiration of the incomprehensible and mundane.

Walks at dusk became a much anticipated retreat - a respite both in movement as well as the cooling that occurred with the sinking of the sun. I found myself making a lot of sky-based small talk while working on this collection.

This collection is a study in color, as well as in experimenting with layering colored slips. There was a certain freedom in painting this collection - it was a much more fluid process than other collections
