This work is an offering to the kiln gods, and an ode to all that we put into the work we make. After I finish a piece, one that I really care about, one that I put a bit of my being into making, I inevitably dream of its destruction. Dropping, knocking over, crashing into, exploding in the kiln, the kiln itself exploding - there are so many ways a vase gets destroyed in a dream. To smash this one while awake was a forbidden delight.
